Welcome To Mahavidhyalya

Chaman Lal Mahavidhyalaya is a well-known college affiliated to Sri DevSumanuttarakhand University and Uttarakhand Sanskrit university. It was established in September 2013 in the memory of Academician and Social worker Late ShriChamanLal Sharma. It has no affiliation with any sector, religion, political group, or thinking.

Chaman Lal Mahavidhyalya offers comprehensive curriculum over large number of UG programs (B.A., B.SC.,B. COM.,B.lib., B.SC.HOME SCI., B.SC. Agriculture), PG programs ( M.A.., M.SC. & M.COM., M.lib.) as well as PG diploma programs.

These programs offer the students multiple academic pathways. The college has an abiding commitment to create excellent education opportunities for the youth hailing from rural areas, at affordable cost. College also offers free tution fee for girls in graduation courses. College also offers unstinting support for community services, through its social responsibility endeavors.

At present, Chaman Lal Mahavidhyalaya has large number of classrooms, 1 seminar hall, and library, well equipped & computerized laboratories. The campus is equipped with Internet Wi-Fi Facility, parking lot, playground and eco-friendly environment.

Chaman Lal Mahavidhyalaya, Established in 2013, with its own distinct identity and tradition has been ensuring as the tower of learning for many generations. It has moulded the destiny of hundreds of people for a better tomorrow. The aim of this college is to provide knowledge, skills, ability, attitudes and beliefs that are essential for a productive and successful life.In our college there are Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Commerce, and imparting education to approximately 1800 students. Our Faculty members regularly attend Orientation refresher courses to keep them abreast of latest developments in their respective subjects. The college is through organizing Seminars, Cultural activities, Orientation, and Training Programme etc. The NCC, NSS and Rover Rangers units in the college are being run with full dedication and gusto.In order to accomplish our vision and mission, we are preparing to take as much effort as possible for the betterment of academic scenario. We believe that education is an effective medium of social transformation. Education is the manifestation of love and my most cherished possession. Education drives away ignorance and through illumination it emboldens a man to a righteous thought and action. I wish to reiterate the importance of few things that we have to keep in mind. Parents should remember that children should not be forced, but should be guided to achieve whatever goals they may have in their minds in an easy and pleasing manner, so that we may be able to discover the particular touch of geniuses in each one of them. The purpose of education is to teach our children to think and develop a capacity to reason out facts. Students should keep in mind the importance of planning and prioritizing their time and the effective use of it which are essential to achieve success. 

Dear students, I wish to reiterate the importance of few things that we have to keep in mind. In my view, the purpose of education is to teach you – our youth – to think and develop a capacity to reason out facts. You should always deliberate and review every event in which you are involved. It is vital to be steady in your academic pursuits to learn to enjoy hard work. Always prepare yourself for the future. Besides this, always defend and preserve our country’s traditions and territory. I encourage all the students to seize the opportunities provided by the college, and to be actively involved in all the co-curricular activities that are offered. The overall development of the mind and body is a sign of holistic development. With experienced and learned teachers, and excellent infrastructure, our college helps students to realize their goals in life.

In this temple of learning, you will find that the focus of the institution and its members remains on the students. Our faculty works like mentors for them, and is always ready to extend a helping hand, to provide a listening ear, a word of advice, care and steady support to the future ambassadors of our college and thereafter, the nation.

I am happy to note that the management of Chaman Lal Mahavidhyalaya has clear and proper vision and is constantly equipping the college to attain the vision and mission of the college. I hope all our stake holders would whole heartedly co-operate with us in the task of transforming society by building a better tomorrow through the medium of education.

Educationists have visualized education as contributing towards building a society that is characterized by honest, vigilant and responsible citizens.  In keeping with this belief, CLM is deeply committed to the goal of creating an educational ethos that fosters the growth of educated, vigilant and socially responsible citizens. Each employee of CLM works tirelessly for creating an environment for all round development of their mental, physical, aesthetic, social and spiritual potentials and generating attitude of integrity, honesty and tolerance so, they give off their very best.

CLM believes that real education is a torch which illuminates the whole world. And in this highly competitive world, CLM’s stated mission is :

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR FACULTIES

Faculties are expected to be exemplary in their public and private lives. Their sense of dedication & good behavior at all times should be an inspiration to the students. Faculties are expected to follow the following code of conduct-

  • Faculties are expected to be in time.
  • Faculty is not to leave the institution campus without prior notice to principal.
  • Faculties are expected to be in their classes and are responsible for keeping the class in order in their respective lectures.
  • No sitting, while teaching.
  • Faculties are expected to come to the institute well dressed, neat and modest.
  • No corporal punishment should be given to the students.
  • Faculty are required to attend respective duties like practical exam, invigilation duty, escorting the students for journey, and extension activities.
  • Faculties are prohibited to show any kind of favoritisms or discrimination in the dealings with the students.
  • Faculty members shall leave the institute with loyalty & shall maintain strict confidentiality in all matters relating to/ regarding the institute affairs.

    RULES & REGULATIONS

Once admitted to the institute every student in bound by the disciplinary rules of the institute.

Principal is the final authority to implement all rules and regulation as laid down & every student is expected to follow them as per the principal’s directives.

  1. The institution has a disciplinary committee.
  2. Every student shall be liable to follow the rules laid down by disciplinary committee.
  3. Every student has to fulfill the minimum requirement of attendance i.e., 75% in both theory & practices as specified by the affiliating university, i.e., Sri Dev Suman University, Tehri.
  4. No students will absent him or her from any lecture without prior notice.
  5. Wearing of proper uniform is must.
  6. Students are required to bring their identity card (issued by the college) every time they enter in the Mahavidhyalaya.
  7. Any students caught in act of baiting will be immediately rusticated from the institute and matter will be reported to the police for legal action as per the law of the land.
